  • The variance in position of a two state system for either bosons ($\displaystyle +$) or fermions ($\displaystyle -$) is given by the variance in position for the distinguishable particle case $\displaystyle \mp$ a correction factor
  • Net effect is attraction between bosons and repulsion between fermions
